		VR BACKGROUND
		"Virtual Revolutions is a series of four media art workshops which take place at venues across Europe in Sofia, Bulgaria (Soros Center for the Arts), Rotterdam, The Netherlands (V2_), Tornio, Finland (Polar Circuit 2) and Manchester, United Kingdom (Revolting) in Spring and Summer 1998.
VR artLinks Base Concept Revolting Participants VR Website Workspace Virtual Heatwave		Virtual Revolutions builds diverse and international teams of artists and writers to work together and enjoy each other's experiences. There are more than 50 participants selected in an open submission process who come from about 14 countries across Europe and beyond to create their collaborative environment both during the workshops and on the Internet. Virtual Revolutions is another step in getting beyond the former East/West divide of Europe and test the creative potential of translocality and virtuality.
		The Virtual Revolutions series leads to the production of a CD-ROM and a Web Diary that will document the participants’ projects in a shared environment. This documentation will be presented during the ISEA '98 conference in Liverpool and Manchester in September 1998."
